Hi, I’m Patrick.
I'm a full-stack product designer with extensive problem-solving experience.
As a systems thinker with 19 years of professional product design experience, I’m hands-on all the way to handoff and beyond – from design vision to design systems, micro to macro, and problem statement to prototype.
Here's some of my work history:
During most of my time at The Washington Post I led the design of the Post's in-house planning and reporting tools. In recent months I've worked on the new Central Design Team as a Senior Staff Product Designer focused on core surfaces and workflows.
Before I worked for the Post I was a Senior Product Designer at Gannett, the parent company of USA TODAY and the USA TODAY Network, a large network of local media organizations. I led the design of internal tools as well as consumer-facing products such as elections results modules and a funeral planning site.
During my years at U.S. News & World Report I designed rankings pages, core components, advertising proposals, and lead generation flows before moving into full-time front-end development.
I started my career as a designer for Army.mil, where I worked my way up from entry level to Creative Director.
