Hi, I’m Patrick.

I'm a full-stack product designer with extensive problem-solving experience.

As a systems thinker with 20 years of professional product design experience, I’m hands-on all the way to handoff and beyond: from micro to macro, design vision to design system, problem statement to prototype, and usability test to user success.

The Washington Post

At The Washington Post I lead the design of the Post's in-house planning and reporting tools as a Senior Staff Product Designer.

Gannett / USA TODAY

Before moving to the Post I was a Senior Product Designer at Gannett, the parent company of USA TODAY and the USA TODAY Network, a large network of local media organizations. I led the design of internal tools as well as consumer-facing products such as elections results modules and a funeral planning site.

Earlier Positions

During my years at U.S. News & World Report I designed rankings pages, core components, advertising proposals, and lead generation flows before moving into full-time front-end development.

I started my career as a designer for Army.mil, where I worked my way up from entry level to Creative Director.
